Anti-Biotin Antibody (Biotin / Vitamin B7 / Vitamin H) – BTN/2032R – 1 mg/mL

The Anti-Biotin Antibody (BTN/2032R) is a high-affinity monoclonal antibody that recognizes both free biotin and protein-conjugated biotin (soluble or cell-bound). It is highly specific for biotin and shows no cross-reactivity with structurally related compounds, making it ideal for sensitive detection and signal amplification in a wide variety of immunoassays and labeling strategies.

This antibody is particularly useful when avidin- or streptavidin-based systems produce high background, as anti-biotin antibody can be used as a low-noise alternative for detecting biotinylated probes.

Key Features

  • Recognizes free and conjugated biotin
Binds both free biotin and biotin linked to proteins or other molecules, in solution or on cell surfaces.
  • Highly specific & high affinity
Exhibits excellent specificity for biotin with no cross-reaction to structurally related analogs, enabling clean, robust signals.
  • Ideal for amplification techniques
High affinity makes it well-suited for signal amplification systems, biotin-streptavidin workflows, and detection of low-abundance targets.
  • Reduced background vs. avidin systems
In applications where avidin/streptavidin produces high background, anti-biotin antibody can be used as an alternative detection reagent to decrease non-specific staining.
  • Multiple formats available
    • Purified primary antibody
    • Conjugated to CF® Dyes and other labels for direct detection.
CF® Dyes provide high brightness and photostability, ideal for fluorescence-based applications.
  • Usage note for blue dyes
Conjugates with blue-excited dyes (e.g. CF®405S, CF®405M) are not recommended for low-abundance targets, as blue dyes generally have lower fluorescence and may yield higher background compared to longer wavelength dyes.
